Psychotherapy and the Psychedelic Renaissance: How Psychedelics Can Enhance and Amplify the Effectiveness of Therapy

March 3, 2023 | 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Eastern Time

Presenter: Sunny Strasburg, LMFT

Target Audience: Clinical Social Workers

Content level: Intermediate/Advanced

CE credits: 3 (Clinical)

About the webinar:

Studies are showing that psychedelic-assisted therapy potentiates our ability as trained psychotherapists to support clients suffering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Ketamine is currently the only legal psychedelic in the USA. Presenter Sunny Strasburg, LMFT has created specific protocols incorporating Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Depth Psychology with Ketamine Assisted Therapy. Using ketamine at a midrange and sub-anesthetic dose to complement the psychotherapy can amplify the effectiveness of trauma treatment. While therapists must be specifically trained in psychedelic-assisted therapy as well as licensed in mental health, this presentation will provide an overview of this novel approach and give attendees an introduction to this exciting and synergistic approach to psychotherapy.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this webinar participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the basics of Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy and understand how it will revolutionize psychology and psychiatry.
  2. Give examples of complementary therapy modalities to incorporate with psychedelic medicine.
  3. Identify the importance of proper training and experience using psychedelic medicines.
